1. Overview
Red Sand City Homes (“RSCH”) takes data protection seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
2. Data we collect
Account data (name, email, phone, hashed password). Property and service data you submit (listings, inquiries, briefs, requests). Identity data for agents (NIN, selfie video) processed by our KYC partner. Usage data (IP, browser, pages visited) for analytics. Payment data is handled by our payment partner — we never see or store full card numbers.
3. Why we collect it
To operate the platform, verify agents, route service requests to the correct partner, send transactional emails, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and improve the product. We do not sell your data.
4. Who we share it with
Our service partners: Supabase (hosting, database, auth), Resend (transactional email), Smile Identity (agent KYC), Paystack (payments), Sentry (error monitoring), PostHog (product analytics), Vercel (hosting). Each has its own privacy policy and is bound by data-processing terms with us.
5. How long we keep it
Account data for as long as your account is active, plus 12 months after closure. Agent KYC data is retained for the period required by Nigerian financial-services regulations. Usage analytics are retained in aggregated form indefinitely; identifiable analytics events are pruned after 12 months.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these, email privacy@redsandcityhomes.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
7. Cookies
We use first-party cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We use a privacy-preserving analytics provider (PostHog) that does not require a cookie banner under Nigerian law. We do not run advertising trackers.
8. Children
The platform is not intended for users under 18. If we discover an account belongs to a minor, we will close it and delete the associated data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice. The “last updated” date below always reflects the current version.
